Subsquid launches Solana Private Beta

We are excited to announce the launch of our Private Beta for Solana. As a vibrant ecosystem with innovative approaches to scaling blockchains, Solana integration has been on our roadmap for Q1 this year, and this is the first step in delivering on our promise.

Hop in anon, we're going Solana!

If you are a developer building on Solana and want to get access to onchain data, fill out this form to be among the first to index Solana using Subsquid.

Why is this a big deal?

Making different design choices than Ethereum in prioritizing scalability and betting on hardware acceleration has enabled Solana to become a go-to place for building dApps requiring big-scale and low-fee transactions, such as in DePIN. Solana also separates code from data to increase efficiency and flexibility. By making Solana programs stateless, accounts only pull data when needed without any redundant deployments.

However, one of the challenges for developers has been accessing Solana’s historical data. Due to the ledger size, it has generally not been practical to store the full ledger history locally for RPC nodes. To still serve the data as needed, the Solana Foundation has been running warehouse nodes that provide a full history and allow access to the ledger archive and block data in a format suitable for serving RPC requests.

Needless to say, this is not the most permissionless/ web3 native setup, and neither are RPC nodes always the best option for extracting and working with data at scale.

Enter Subsquid.

Our decentralized data lake stores raw blockchain data in parquet files across a network of nodes - enabling devs to deploy their own indexers on top without needing to access RPC nodes for archival data. This approach offers maximum flexibility to define custom schemas for anything, from simple DeFi to complex multi-chain indexers.

Just like Solana separates execution and data, Subsquid provides scalable data access for anyone needing onchain (and eventually off-chain) data.

And we’re not just more Web3-native than other centralized indexing or warehouse solutions. With Subsqid, you also get speed up to 150,000 blocks/ second.

But don’t take our word for it.

Try it.

Needless to say, we’re pretty bullish on Solana and can’t wait to empower devs to build cool things over there.
